Frequently Asked Questions

What are the unit dimensions at Cypress Crossing?

Each unit is 14 feet wide and 50 feet deep, giving you 700 square feet of fully enclosed storage space. The 14-foot width accommodates wide-beam boats and slide-out RVs, and the 50-foot depth handles most full-size travel trailers, fifth wheels, pontoons, and bass boats with room to work around the vehicle.

Are the storage units enclosed or open-air?

All units at Cypress Crossing are fully enclosed — four solid walls, a full roof, and a secure door. This is different from covered or canopy-style storage, where your vehicle is still exposed on the sides. Enclosed storage provides complete protection from sun, rain, wind, and humidity year-round.

Is electrical service available in the storage units?

Yes. You can add 30-amp electrical service to your unit for $30 per month. This is ideal for RV owners who want to maintain shore power, run a battery trickle charger, or keep climate systems active during storage. Not all units are pre-wired — confirm availability when you reserve.

Where is Cypress Crossing located, and how do I get there?

We are located at 1100 SW Railroad Avenue (Hwy 51) in Ponchatoula, LA 70454, just south of downtown Ponchatoula. We're convenient to I-55 and a short drive from the Manchac Wildlife Management Area boat launch. Customers regularly store with us from Hammond, Madisonville, Amite, Independence, and Covington.

What does it cost to store a boat or RV at Cypress Crossing?

Our standard rate is $395/month for a 14×50 enclosed unit (month-to-month after any initial term). During our grand opening, we offered a Founders Rate of $350/month on 12-month leases for the first 10 customers — check current availability on our Rent Storage page, as promotional pricing may still be active. Electrical service is an optional $30/month add-on.

How do I reserve a unit?

You can reserve online at any time through our Rent Storage page. A $200 deposit holds your unit. That deposit is 100% refundable, or it can be applied as a credit toward your first month's rent — whichever you prefer.

Is the $200 deposit refundable?

Yes, fully. If you reserve a unit and change your mind before moving in, your $200 deposit will be returned to you. If you move in, it is applied to your first month's rent. There are no cancellation penalties.

What are the lease terms?

We offer both month-to-month and 12-month lease options. The Founders Rate pricing requires a 12-month commitment. Standard month-to-month rentals are available at the posted rate. Contact us if you have specific term requirements.

Do I need insurance to store my boat or RV here?

Yes. All tenants are required to maintain insurance coverage on stored vehicles. We offer a Tenant Protection plan through our website if you need a convenient option — visit our Tenant Protection page for details and pricing. You may also use your own existing boat, RV, or auto insurance policy as long as it covers stored vehicles.

Can I access my unit at any time?

Yes. The facility is designed for convenient access. Specific gate access hours will be posted at opening — check our Contact page or call us at (985) 308-6083 for current access hours as we approach our grand opening date.

What types of vehicles can I store at Cypress Crossing?

Our units are sized for: fishing boats, bass boats, pontoon boats, ski boats, travel trailers, fifth wheels, Class B and Class C motorhomes, oversized pickup trucks, cargo trailers, and other large recreational or commercial vehicles. If you're unsure whether your rig fits, call us with your dimensions and we'll confirm.

Is Cypress Crossing a good option if I launch at Manchac?

Yes — that's one of the main reasons people choose us. We're located just minutes from the Manchac boat launch on I-55. Instead of hauling your boat back home to Hammond or Covington after every trip, you can drop it at Cypress Crossing and pick it up again when you're ready to go. It simplifies the logistics of fishing and boating on Lake Maurepas and the surrounding waters significantly.
